Food drive at the business fair

Help support the  Gleaners Food Bank Drive at the Indiana Small Business Fair!

Our goal is to fill up 5 pickup trucks full of food. We need your help!

Small Business owners and supporters of small businesses in Indiana; let’s rally to support hunger relief in Indiana.

We are asking attendees to  bring  any nonperishable food items and help Hoosier families who need assistance on May 11th, 2010,  to fight hunger here in central Indiana.

Hunger… Believe it or not, it’s a huge issue right here in Indiana.    Thousands of people around us are facing hunger everyday… families, seniors and children. There are over 83,000 children living in poverty throughout Gleaners’ 20 county service area alone.

In fact, food requests at Gleaners Food Bank of Indiana’s network of over 400 Hunger Relief Charities have increased in the last year drastically.

Please visit www.gleaners.org to learn more about hunger.  We want to partner with the Food Bank to fight hunger here in central Indiana.

We CAN make a difference!

What Wish TV reported on the July 21st, 2009 business fair

Some Hoosiers creating their own jobs

Published : Tuesday, 21 Jul 2009, 6:17 PM EDT

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – In this economic climate some are deciding to launch their own business rather than try to find work in an uncertain corporate climate.

It’s not easy. According to the small business administration, 69% of small businesses fail within seven years. But hundreds of Hoosiers hope to beat the odds.

24-Hour News 8’s anchor Deanna Dewberry talked too many of them Tuesday at the Indiana Small Business Fair .
